Winter 2008 Storm

This is for our non-Utah family and friends. Just thought you might want to see what we have been hit with this last month. Yesterday (Saturday, February 2nd) was a beautiful sunny day - very appropriate for President Hinckley's funeral services. When we woke up this morning, we were hit with another storm - about 8" of snow. We have been hit with one after another this past week. We had to shovel out around our cars so that we could leave our driveway to get to church today.

When we came home from church today, I grabbed my camera to take some pictures. I had Max and Dee get in the pictures so that you could get an idea of how high some of the snow piles are. The picture where you just see Dee's and Max's head - they are standing on the sidewalk in front of the house. That is how high the snow pile is on the street. The pile on the grass behind them is about just as high - you can see that in the pictures where Max is standing on the sidewalk between the two piles.

And our mail carrier probably just loves delivering mail to our house. Our neighbors on our street have similar piles of snow in front of their houses. Thanks to Dee with his almost daily shoveling and Brother North with his ATV Snow Plow, we haven't been trapped in our house.

For our friends and family that love skiing and snowboarding, the ski resorts are loving this. For Mom and Dad who are living in 80 - 90 degree weather, this must look a little refreshing.

We even got about another inch later this evening and we are supposed to get another storm or possibly storms this week. We will be happy when it slows down and starts to melt.

Thank you for the pictures. They made it feel a little cooler, if only for a few seconds.
